This partnership between AEI and the Civitas Institute springs from our shared interest in exploring the ideas and institutions that sustain a free society and connecting thoughtful student leaders with leading scholars. 

This year’s summit in Texas gathers both students from the AEI Executive Council program from campuses across the country and students from the great universities in this city and state. Throughout the weekend, scholars and leaders from both organizations and networks will discuss what’s next for American politics, foreign policy, and the global economy. 

This year is likely to be one of momentous challenges that will require the best of civic leadership to preserve our free society for future generations. In 2023, a new and divided Congress begins its work as the next presidential campaign starts up, Russia’s war in Ukraine will enter its second year as challenges in the Indo-Pacific are likely to raise global tensions, and the strength of the US and global economies will be tested by pandemic recovery and disruptions of new technologies on where and how people live.

Daily sessions will be held at the ATT Hotel and Conference Center. Keynote dinners on Thursday and Friday will be at the Thompson Conference Center.
